A monster and his dad have fun at the park
Three different children have three different reasons for having a hard time waiting – they all come together at the end
The tables are turned in this back to school story. Dad is nervous about his son going back to school and is so worried about him. Dad exhibits all the usual behavior of the back to school dread (hiding, procrastinating, etc.)
Rory goes on an adventure without his dad (or so he thinks)
Sweet story about animals hugging their dads.
All the different ways animal daddies kiss their babies. Little N loves his papa, so this was a fun story!
This was really a book for mom rather than Little N. I read it to him while he was eating. He gave it some cursory glances, but it brought tears to my eyes. Baby bear lists all the different ways she is herself, but the self she likes best is when she is with her dad. The ending really sums it up, “And though I’ll find new ways of being me my whole life though, my favorite me will always be when I am me with you.”
I read this one to Little N while he was eating (one of the best times of days to read to him). He liked the colorful illustrations. The story goes through various activities Spot does with his dad throughout the day. A reassuring, comfortable story.
An imaginative story told with very few words. A young girl on her dad’s back encourages him to go faster – like different animals. In the end, poor dad runs out of gas, but the girl still thinks he was fast! It was an enjoyable story, but I think it isn’t great for young ones like Little N. He liked the pictures, but it would be a good one to look at again.
